frequently asked questions - Fall booking
Fall booking is the absolute craziest time of year. I appreciate all of your questions, comments, and concerns, and most of what I get asked is readily available on my website at all times! Please click around on my website to find what you may be looking for! Below is a lot of information, but will help you to be prepared come booking time! August 1st at 9am, a calendar will appear on the BOOK NOW page of my website where you can select a date and time for your session. These are for FULL sessions only.
Please understand that I work my booty off in the Fall to accommodate all of my incredible clients! I love what I do and am so appreciative of your constant loyalty and support of my business!
First thing’s first: All of my session prices are here on the website under the investment tab!! This is my most frequently asked question, and it’s not a secret. Click above to find the session type you’re looking for, and all the info is right there!
Please do not ask if I can book your session before August 1st. I do it this way to be fair to everyone. I put in a lot of time and effort to make it fair. Please do not ask.
When selecting a date & time, and paying the deposit ($130), you have secured that spot!! Please allow 24-48 hours to receive your official booking e-mail from me, but THIS is your spot! The remainder of your session cost will be due 7 days prior to your session.
The earliest morning spot, and the latest evening spot will be the absolute best for lighting (assuming it is a sunny day). In the event of an overcast day, please allow a few hours for your session, as times may need to be adjusted day of, 30-60 minutes forward or backward. Your flexibility on the day of your session is greatly appreciated.
Turn around time for finished galleries is usually 2-3 weeks from the session.
In the Fall, morning sessions will be the coldest, please keep this in mind when choosing a date and time, and also when dressing your family.
I will send you a few options for locations for your session after your booking has been completed. If you have a specific location in mind, and prefer not to budge on it, please make me aware of this before booking. I open up 2 morning and 2 evening sessions back to back for every day that I’m available of October & November. This means that each morning and each evening session will take place in the same location since I can't be in two places at once. (I wish I could!) I do my absolute best to choose a location appropriately close to both clients.
Please read my contract that is sent along with your official booking e-mail. Any questions you may possibly have about rescheduling for weather, locations, payments, etc. will all be in there! If you prefer to receive a copy of my contract prior to August 1st or prior to booking in general, I am happy to send you one!
If you would like to take advantage of my free styling service, you need to fill out the questionnaire that is in your client portal and allow at least 2 weeks before your session for me to send you styling! Read about my styling service here.
City of Chicago clients: If you want your session to take place in or around the city, you need to select a weekend spot, no exceptions.
All rescheduled sessions take place on weekdays (excluding city clients). Weather is the only allowed reason for a reschedule. (Refer to my contract for more).
No specific weather is guaranteed, I am a human being and unfortunately cannot predict the weather, the colors of the leaves, or anything of the like. Please understand this, and bare with me this Fall. :) From past experience, the colors typically begin to change around mid October. That being said, unless you are new to the mid-west, you know that anything can happen as far as the weather goes.
If you want to include extended family in your session, it is an additional $100/family, with grandparents always being complimentary. This is a great way to split the cost of a session and everyone will get their own family photos as well as group photos. ;) Just sayin’
