Kate Kamins | Vintage Glam Maternity Session | Northwest Chicago Suburbs Family Photographer
Kate is one of my favorite people of all time. Not only is she the hardest working person I know, an INCREDIBLE mom to her amazing Tulsa, but she is always striving to make things pretty, fun, and bigger than life. I often tell my clients that a photoshoot is what you make it, and the best sessions are a true collaboration. Kate and I’s shoots together are such a testament of that. She holds up her end of the bargain by having a vision, communicating it, and then we tackle it together. Being excited about your vision and your session is so important! The professional makeup done by Melissa Kamins was top notch, and Kate’s talent for doing her hair so beautifully is always impressive to me. I had sent her the link to the dress to see if she’d go for it, and luckily she did and was able to get it delivered quickly. When you pick a dress like this to shoot with, you can’t half ass it, you have to go all out, there’s just no other way! I got the disco balls because I’ve been dying to shoot with them for a while now, and this couldn’t have been a more perfect shoot for it.
It’s not unusual that we planned this shoot in a week, and I’m not even surprised with how well it came together in such a short period of time. We shot these on Kate’s farm of course, and were lucky enough to borrow the beautiful pink 1950s Ford Skyliner from good friends of her husband’s, which as soon as I saw it, I could NOT wait to start shooting! 🤩 Amazon to the rescue for her epic dress and the disco balls, and her cowboy boots are from her wedding! 😭 Words can’t do this shoot justice so please just go ahead and enjoy these photos!!
